VU Dashboard
What they needed
AB Marketing runs door-to-door sales teams across a dozen states in two divisions, fiber internet and residential energy. Sales landed in half a dozen provider portals and spreadsheets, so nobody could see a rep’s week without stitching exports together, and payroll meant rebuilding every check by hand under a plan with weekly volume tiers, overrides and exit rules.
What we built
VU is one platform for the whole company, a Laravel and PostgreSQL application on hosting we manage. Provider reports flow in on their own, by API, scheduled export and CSV upload, and every order is matched to the right agent, team and pay ladder.
On top of that one data set sit six tools, each shown below: a sales dashboard for each division, an agent portal, payroll, an admin console for each division, and weekly audit sheets the client signs off on.
Two sales dashboards, one grid
Fiber and energy are different businesses with different providers, so each division gets its own dashboard on the same bones. The weekly grid shows every rep’s day-by-day count with the team, campaign, provider and state filters directors actually use, and a counted-only toggle hides incomplete orders from every panel at once.
Below it: a performance overview for any date range, sales and knock leaderboards, plan and account-status breakdowns, a sales-by-state map, territory knock tracking, monthly goals by market, reward-milestone progress and a live company roster.
An agent portal built for a phone
Reps live on their phones, so the portal installs as an app and opens on the week that pays them: sales so far against the weekly goal, days left, and confirmed versus estimated commission. Below that, sales at a glance for any date range, a daily chart, the reward-milestone ladder with rewards they can claim, the projected payout for the next check, and every upcoming install with its commission.
Managers see their whole team on the same screens. Energy agents see enrollments and provider status instead of installs, and sign in by email with a passkey available as a second step.
Payroll from the same numbers
Checks pay on Wednesdays for the prior Monday-to-Sunday week, and the pay run builds itself from the grid: each agent’s on-check sales, the weekly volume tier that sets their rates, overrides for managers and directors, travel deductions and claimed milestone rewards.
Exit holds apply on their own to reps under the weekly minimum and lift when a sale lands; payroll staff can waive or hold a line with the reason recorded. Every figure has a breakdown behind it, so “why is my check this amount” is answered in one click instead of a spreadsheet hunt.
An admin console for each division
Everything the office used to ask us for is a form now. Agents auto-created from uploaded sales data wait in a queue to be given a role and a team, dashboard invites go out as single-use links, pay scales are edited as ladders with effective dates and a revision history, and teams, campaigns, territories and corporate users are managed in place.
The energy console adds per-provider enrollment uploads and a queue of enrollments that have no pay scale yet, so nothing silently pays zero.
Audited before it goes out
Every week VU produces three sheets for the client to confirm: who is seated where, which pay ladder each person is on, and the counting rules for energy. Lines are marked correct or wrong with a note, answers save as you go, and a confirmed line stays confirmed until something changes, so the weekly pass is only what is new.
Access is by named account with a password and a passkey as the second factor. Agents have their own guard with invite-only registration, and the dashboard doubles as the single sign-on provider for the company’s onboarding app.
